Comparative
"than":di or che?
Di is used when the comparator is followed by a noun or a pronoun. In the other cases (when it is followed by a verb, adjective, or preposition) che is used. Che is also used when the quantity is compared. See the last example.

Superlative
"of", "in": di
In superlative constructions, Italian uses di where English uses in or of. For example:

Questa è la macchina più cara del mondo. |
This is the most expensive car in the world. |
|
Questa è la ragazza più alta di tutte. |
This is the tallest girl of all. |
The ending -issimo: "very"
When adding -issimo to the adjective the final vowel of the adjective
-a, -o, -e is deleted:
intelligente – intelligentissimo
bravo – bravissimo
Adjectives ending in -co, -go: the form of the ending is the same as in plural:
simpatico – simpatici – simpaticissimo
ricco – ricchi – ricchissimo
